Everyone has a preferred way of learning and even a favourite learning environment.

Some people like a "little-and-often" approach, built into their working day; others prefer to get right away from the pressures and distractions of work by immersing themselves in something more intensive. Some like to be part of a group, others want individual attention.

At LanguageLab we will recommend and design a course structure which matches your overall objectives, your preferred learning style and which fits in with your schedule.

We know from our many years' experience which formats are the most effective and we'll be happy to talk them through with you.

Learning in the real world

By staying small, we’re able to work closely with our trainers and create highly personal, innovative training programmes which make full use of modern communication tools and the wealth of resources available in cosmopolitan, multi-cultural London. Occasionnally, we like to take the learning out of your office or the training room and into the real world. So don't be surprised if you find yourself doing part of your course on your company's trading floor, in a video room, at a professional exhibition or even in a French café.

How are you doing?

Prior to the course we will meet you to carry out an assessment, set your objectives and discuss the material needed for your language programme..

We also build two revision/ assessment sessions into all programmes to check how you're doing. The first will take place half way through the course and the second towards the end, with a different trainer. These sessions are quite informal and take various forms, depending on the course. For example, if you're working towards a presentation, we'll get you to do one, assess how it goes and focus on areas which still need to be worked on.

Between sessions

You will be given the chance to practise using the language through short, varied tasks which can be easily built into the working day.

This might be making a phone call, sending an email, watching a short film or reading a short article from a newspaper or the internet.

Believe us, we understand the pressure you're under and how difficult it can be to set time aside. That's why we've put the emphasis on short, but regular practice. You'll be amazed at the impact it has on your overall progress.

If you want to, you can validate your training with us by taking one of several examinations available. We can help you prepare for one of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry exams, which are available at different levels.
